Why Do We Celebrate Christmas at Prugar Consulting?

Posted by in Commemoration/Celebration | December 09, 2013

Life can overwhelm us with so many difficult things or distract us with so many good things that we often forget the Giver of all good gifts.

for “In him we live and move and have our being”;

as even some of your own poets have said,

“For we are indeed his offspring.”

(Act 17:28 ESV)

But what is His greatest gift to us?

For God so loved the world,

that he gave his only begotten Son,…

(John 3:16a ESV)

And why is THIS the greatest gift?  Because it is the good news that can render null and void the bad news.  The bad news is:

it is appointed for man to die once,

and after that comes judgment,…

(Heb 9:27b ESV)

Judgment comes to all at the end of time or at the end of life – all who have a sense of justice know this to be true.

Do not be deceived:

God is not mocked,

for whatever one sows,

that will he also reap.

(Gal 6:7 ESV)

But God, in His love for you and me, out of His great generosity, sent His Son to deliver us from our deserved judgment.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;

but that the world through him might be saved.”

(John 3:17 ESV)

When God sends the Son the second time, it WILL be for judgment.

The times of ignorance God overlooked,

but now he commands all people everywhere to repent,

because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world

in righteousness by a man [Jesus Christ] whom he has appointed;

and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.

(Act 17:30-31 ESV)

Here is the invitation He offers:

But this is how God fulfilled what he had foretold through all the prophets,

 saying that his Christ would suffer.

Repent, then, and turn to God,

so that your sins may be wiped out,

that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,…

(Act 3:18-19 NIV)

The kingdom of heaven is like a king

who prepared a wedding banquet for his son.

(Mat 22:2 NIV)

All who trust Him have been instructed through His written Word to invite whomever we meet to the wedding banquet.  Consider this your invitation from the King.

Please R.S.V.P.  to Him.  He has a gift for you – eternal life.

“All that the Father gives Me [Jesus Christ] will come to Me,

and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out.

(John 6:37 NASB)
