Windy March Living Up to Its Reputation (March 1 & 9, 2017)

Posted by in Weather Events | March 09, 2017

If March seems to have been a windy month this year, you would be right.  Two of the first nine days of March boast of peak wind gusts up to 61 MPH recorded at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.  For those keeping track the days are March 1 and March 8.

We noticed numerous pine trees and a few deciduous trees downed or broken in Middleburg Heights, North Royalton, and Parma on March 8th.  Along with downed trees we have seen damaged mailboxes, dislodged ridge vents, and a report of a roof covering partially torn off on Lewis Road in Olmsted Township.

Hopefully the old March adage, “In like a lion, and out like a lamb,” will apply this year.
