Damage from High Winds and Hail in Northern Ohio – July 1, 2012

Local television news media reported damage from storms in Sandusky and Ashland, Ohio on July 1, 2012.  Winds up to 60 MPH were reported.  The news report showed downed power lines, downed tree limbs, and downed trees that appeared to exhibit evidence of rot.  “Small golf ball” sized and one inch diameter sized hail was reported by some interviewed on camera.  FOX8 reported pea sized to quarter sized hail from Marblehead to Richland County. Photographs submitted by viewers on the WEWS television website show accumulations of hail about one inch or less in diameter at Cedar Point and on Marblehead.
