Time to Check Those Roofs for Debris

Posted by in Buying/Maintaining a Home, Roof | June 23, 2014

Even though it is already well into June 2014 we are still finding roofs with accumulations of debris from last fall and winter.  Come on, my friends, it is time to get those valleys and gutters cleaned of debris!  Roofs should be checked regularly for damage and accumulation of debris.  A good time to do this is spring when the weather first breaks, fall just before the freezing temperatures and snows set in, and after storms with high winds, hail, or lightning.  Regular maintenance reduces the risk of interior damage from rain, snow, or ice.

Here are some examples of what I speak from past years:

Dam of leaves in valley promote roof leakage.

Accumulation of tree debris in gutter.

Fallen gutter exhibits accumulation of tree debris.

So get out there or hire someone before this happens to you.
